WhaleSAFE
Promoting fun, safe and educational whale watching

Be WhaleSAFE:
  See a whale
  Admire at a safe distance
  Follow without disturbance
  Enjoy!

For the best whale watching experience for you, and the whales, follow these safe whale watching guidelines:

SEE A BLOW - GO SLOW; Slow down and approach at the same speed of the whale (about 2-3 knots)
CAREFULLY approach from the right or left flank - do not pull in directly in front or behind the whale
ALWAYS attempt to stay 100 yards away from a whale. If a situation arises where you cannot avoid a whale by 100 yards, DO operate at a no-wake speed.

DO NOT:
- Move into the path of a whale
- Move faster than a whale;
- Make erratic speed or directional changes, except to avoid collision with a whale.
- Get between two whales
- Chase any whales
- Feed or touch any whales
